You understand the problem. So why does it still feel the same?

Perhaps you’ve thought it through, read the books or tried to respond differently.

But when a familiar situation comes along, the feelings return. You second-guess yourself, withdraw, become defensive or put someone else’s needs ahead of your own.

You might recognise this in:

  • Relationships where the same tensions keep resurfacing.

  • Opportunities you want to pursue but hold yourself back from.

  • Decisions that leave you overthinking and doubting yourself.

  • Conversations where you struggle to express what you need.

  • Habits you keep returning to despite wanting something different.

Understanding a pattern can be valuable. Changing how you experience it emotionally can open up a different way forward.

I Felt an Instant Shift

“It's amazing how quickly Sanj finds the root of the issue and helps you to release it. I felt an instant shift and a deeper sense of empowerment.”

Today’s challenge can activate an earlier response.

Sometimes, what you feel in the present is influenced by something you experienced much earlier in life.

Your nervous system can learn protective responses from past experiences. A current situation that feels familiar may activate those responses automatically, before you’ve had time to think it through.

For example, feedback at work might bring up an old feeling of being criticised. Disagreement might feel like rejection. Being visible or speaking up might feel uncomfortable because of earlier experiences of judgement.

The present situation is real, but the intensity of your response may also be shaped by the past.

You can think of this as an earlier emotional response being carried forward and triggered again. It doesn’t mean every difficulty comes from childhood, or that we need to find one specific event to make progress.

Together, we explore what fits your experience, including what is happening in your life now.

Understand what’s beneath the pattern—and work towards releasing its hold.

My approach brings together two connected parts: understanding the influences behind a recurring difficulty and working with the emotional responses associated with it.

I use emotional release techniques to help you explore those feelings and work towards reducing their hold on how you experience the present.

The aim is a change you can feel: less emotional charge, a fresh perspective and greater choice in how you respond.

Some clients describe feeling lighter or seeing their situation differently during or immediately after a session. Others experience change more gradually. Your sessions are shaped around your needs, preferences and pace.

A different feeling can open the door to a different experience.

When a familiar situation feels less emotionally charged, new responses can become possible.

You may find it easier to:

  • Speak honestly instead of holding everything in.

  • Consider feedback without immediately doubting yourself.

  • Set a boundary without feeling overwhelmed by guilt.

  • Approach an opportunity you would previously have avoided.

  • Make a decision with greater clarity.

  • Connect with others in a more open and confident way.

As your perspective and behaviour change, you may also notice and pursue possibilities that previously felt out of reach.

This is how inner change can create room for new experiences, relationships and opportunities in everyday life.

A personal approach that evolves with you.

There is no fixed formula you have to fit into. We begin with what you want to feel different and shape the work around you.

Start with what’s happening now.

We explore your current challenge, how it affects you and what you would like to change. You don’t need to arrive with a clear explanation.

Explore the response beneath it.

Together, we look at the feelings, beliefs and familiar reactions connected to your situation. Where relevant, we explore how earlier experiences may be influencing your response today.

Work with the emotional charge.

We use emotional release techniques where appropriate, with the aim of helping you experience the situation with greater freedom and less automatic reactivity.

Bring the shift into everyday life.

We explore what a different perspective makes possible in your choices, conversations, relationships and actions. As life changes, our work can adapt too.

Questions you may have

What do you mean by emotional release?

I use this term to describe working with the feelings connected to a situation or recurring pattern, with the aim of reducing their emotional hold. We discuss what the work involves so you can decide whether it feels appropriate for you.

Do I need to know where my feelings come from?

No. We can begin with what you notice now: a feeling, reaction, situation or pattern you’d like to change. We don’t need to assume a particular cause or identify a single earlier event.

Will I feel different immediately?

Some clients report a noticeable shift during or immediately after a session. Others experience change over time. No particular outcome or timescale can be guaranteed.

Does an immediate shift mean the issue is fully resolved?

A noticeable shift can be a meaningful beginning. We also look at how it carries into everyday life and whether further support would be useful.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your goals, circumstances and how the work develops. We discuss possible next steps together and review progress rather than assuming everyone needs the same programme.

Are sessions available online?

Online sessions can be made available depending on your circumstances and requirements. However, it is usually better have several in-person sessions first.

Will every session include complementary approaches?

No. Any approach we consider depends on your needs, interests and preferences. There is no requirement to use every discipline I offer.

Is this a substitute for therapy or healthcare?

My services are intended for personal development and complementary wellbeing support. They do not replace psychotherapy, medical care or treatment for a mental health condition. Where your needs fall outside my scope, I’ll explain that so you can seek appropriate support.

Make room for a different response.

You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin.

Bring the situation you keep coming back to, the feeling you want to understand or the change you’d like to make.

We can explore it together.
